on my nightstand...

I love to read. It's one of my favorite ways to wind down. Right now I'm reading a few books. They are:

New Moon.... I've decided that while I walk on the treadmill I can keep from getting bored by reading. So for my exercise book I'm reading the Twilight series. I figured a book I'm very familiar with is best to read while walking.

Hunger Games.... I just started this one. I've heard so many reviews about how good it is, so I decided I needed to check it out. So far I'm not disappointed. :)

Angels & Demons.... This one I just started. As in I've read one page. But I'm excited for it. I loved the DaVinci Code, so I have high expectations for this one.

I was reading Scarlette a book today. It was a little different than normal. She would turn the page and ask me what it's about and I would tell her what was going on. I didn't realize that she was actually quizzing me until we were all done and she tells me, "Good job Mommy, good job!".

Scarlette loves to "read". She will sit and play with her book for 20 min, not making a sound. "I Am a Bunny" is one of her favorites. I used to be the same way. I would sit and look at books forever! She is going to be such a good reader!


Also like her mother, she doesn't like to be bothered while reading.

FINISHED!

I finished all three books in the Twilight series. Yes, in less than a week. I really suprised myself. I was a little disappointed when I finished the last page of Eclipse. I wanted more!! But, then I went online I found out there are 2 more books!!! I feel so much better. Although, I do have to wait a year for Breaking Dawn. That's gonna suck.

PS they are making a movie of Twilight!! I'm so excited!!

Where have I been?

I know I've been a little MIA lately. This is due to the fact that I went up and visited Ashley to see her new, adorable little baby. then I had the wonderful suprise of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows arriving on my doorstep at around 11 am Saturday morning. My mom tried to steal it claiming she wouldnt see me for a few days. I finally got it away and cracked the perfectly untouched spine. I immediatly started reading and immediatly got sucked in. Everyone was just sure that I would be so immersed that I would completly ignore Scarlette. But I didn't. I took care of her just as I always do and still managed to finish this morning at 2 am. I had a few lapses in reading when John and I went out to visit his family. I wasnt even thinking about the book while I was away. Then when I got home, Kathryn had stolen it and started reading. Monday I even had to go to work all day. When I got home Kat was almost ahead of me. She finished the chapter and i stole the book back. I couldn't have her finish it before me. So Monday night after John and Scarlette went to sleep I read. I planned on reading for 2 hours ( till 12) but I couldn't put it down. I HAD to finish. It was so intoxicating. So I did. And it was great. I will miss the fun and excitment of new Harry Potter books.Thanks J.K. Rowling for all the fun.
