happy new year!

We spent new years eve in Newport Beach with my family. We didn't have noise makers and we didn't even make a toast at midnight. S fell asleep at 11:30. In fact I had to text a kiss to my hubby since he had gone off to play COD with my brother in law. We might have been a little lame but we made up for it by spending new years day on the beach and going to Ruby's Shake Shack right at sunset before it closed and drank yummy shakes while watching the sun go down. It was a beautiful start to the year!

The new year

To cap off the end of last year, Scarlette got to come home Dec. 19. The hospital called and told us the good news and John immediately was rushing me out the door. We were both very excited!! Then we had a wonderful Christmas spent with family and friends. We spent Christmas eve in Big Bear with John's family and Christmas with mine. Scarlette finally got to meet her new cousin, Cash.

As you can see, he's quite a bit bigger than Scarlette. Our New Year's eve wasn't super eventful. We went to bed before 12 and set our alarms to wake up for the countdown. As my dad said, we're getting old fast. But we have lots to look forward to this year. On Monday (the 8th) Scarlette will be 1 month old! She is growing fast. She had an Dr. appointment yesterday and she weighs 6 pounds 14 ounces. Almost 7 pounds! The Dr. said her jaundice is behind us so that is a big relief. John is starting work at FES and I am gonna be working from home. I'm having lots of fun being a mom.(although I do miss sleeping through the night) Scarlette is changing fast. My mom thinks she's changed a ton just in the past week. I agree. I can tell she's getting older in looks and how she acts. I'm anxious for her to get old enough to play with us, but then I don't want her to grow up. I want her like this forever!

I made her hat! :)

all tucked in, sleeping sweetly

We look forward to this new year and what its going to bring us. I haven't yet made my new years resolutions.. maybe not to procrastinate should be on there. :)but I will make them! I hope everyone's new years have started off well and will continue as such!
