home sweet home.

i know i'm a little late getting these pics of the house up.
I've been waiting until things were a little more organized and looked better.
They still aren't perfect, but that's ok.

let the tour begin!

Here is our house.

the front patio...

and our other patio [i guess that is what you would call this]

then through the front door and into the living room.
[immediately to your left you can enter the family room, but we are going through the doorway you see pictured]

next you come to the dining room.

and then the kitchen.
[its a small odd shaped kitchen. but it works]

now we have reached the family room.
[i will get something on the walls soon. promise.]

then down the hallway to the bedrooms.

[we have an awesome skylight right above our bed.]

then out the sliding door and onto the back patio.
there is a built in BBQ on the other end. it wasn't working at first, but john fixed it up so now we can BBQ all summer long!

so there you have it! a tour of our lovely home. :)

just another thursday.

i went to the store today. they had 4lbs of strawberries for just 3.99!! so i bought them.
but what was i going to do with 4 lbs of strawberries??
[... well ok we could easily eat 4lbs of strawberries since the husband loves them]

i decided to make chocolate covered strawberries. i had never made them before but it was suuuper simple! now i totally feel gypped for buying a $5 strawberry from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.. ok ok. theirs are worth $5.

so anyway.. the super easy process..

First, take your strawberries and wash & dry them.


Then, you take 1c. chocolate chips [i used semi sweet] and 2 tbsp of shortening and melt them in a double boiler. [this made enough chocolate for about 20 strawberries but mine were really big berries.]




Next, you dip in your berries, swirl them around, shake off excess chocolate, and place them on wax paper.


Lastly, let your strawberries cool at room temp for about 15 min. then you can keep them in the fridge till you serve & enjoy them!


Now that i've gotten dessert out of the way, Michael Bublé and I are making chicken tacos for dinner. :)

some color.

I went to Michael's last night to look at their silk flowers for some headbands. These caught my eye as a fun home decor. They are just so bright and cheery. They make me happy. (plus they won't die on me like real flowers.)

tea for two.

When I was in Oregon I went to a little antique shop in Silverton and found a china toy tea set for a total steal of $5. I was so excited! So yesterday Scarlette & I had a tea party, complete with cream cheese & cucumber sandwiches! We had soo much fun! I want to invite some of her friends over for another tea party really soon. It will be so much fun!

little things.

its the little things that brighten up a day and put a smile on my face.
i love those unexpected kisses from scarlette, or when she looks at me as i'm feeling rather drab and tells me i look pretty, or when she tells me she loves me more. :)

just now i went to check on her while she's sleeping. i decided i wanted to hold while she slept like i used to so i carefully picked her up and cradled her in my arms and rocked her back and forth. i whispered in her ear that i loved her and she answered "love you!" she hadn't woken up, just saying it in her sleep.

i love my little girl.

im dreaming...

...about getting THIS one day for Scarlette. Isn't it cute!!!!

fish, fish.

Scarlette got a fish from her papa today! (john's dad). She loves her fishy. She keeps kissing and hugging the fish tank. We haven't named the fish yet. We are trying to get Scarlette to pick a name but she keeps calling it "that". Maybe that will be its name. I say we should name it Neptune since i used to have a betta fish named Jupiter. We'll see.







This is the fish tank. Its really cool. It can hang on the wall or sit on a table. And its so pretty! If you want a betta fish I totally think you should get THIS

I got Scarlette a table from IKEA and she LOVES it!! She was sitting in the chairs before I was done with all the other pieces. She has to eat all her meals there now and even makes me eat there with her. I need to paint it so it easier to clean. So I will keep you posted on how it turns out.

Scarlette, version 1.5

Today Scarlette is one and a half. She woke up extra early so she could have an extra fun day. I thought about making a half cake like I did last year, but today was a little crazy. We took family pictures today... so of course Murphey's law had to come in effect and this happened...

So in the family pictures we took today, my little girl's face is all banged up. Poor thing. But after our pics we went to mom's and Erin came over with brownies. So it ended up being a good half birthday.

we finally got a new vacuum! and i couldn't be happier. john and i got this vacuum after we got married. and i HATE it.

it is the most horrible vacuum ever! it spits the dirt out. when i am cleaning up something like cat litter i can feel the pieces pelting my legs!! so we finally got this...

and its like heaven!! :)

Scarlette's room

I don't know if i mentioned, but we have moved out of my mom's guest house and into our own place. It's been about a month. I haven't gotten things all situated how i want them yet, so I've been waiting to post some pictures. But i want to show how cute Scarlette's room is coming along.

This is my latest craft...


The crib. My sister Ashley gave her the wall hanging.


Her name & the shelves i painted.

Its still a little bare looking. I need to put some pictures up. Its the same all through the place. At least thats how i feel.
We didn't paint her room. It was already painted for us when we moved in. The previous people had little girls. So we lucked out! :) I love it !

the moment you've all been waiting for.....

PICTURES!!!!

so i know its been forever that I've been promising pictures of the apartment, but i finally came through! so lets begin.
ok. this is what you see when you walk in the front door. That is our lovely fish tank that John has set up. As of now it only has one fish. I guess were working on plant and coral life first. The door that you can barely see on the left side of the picture leads to our patio. Its not too big but its all enclosed so it is nice. We got a small BBQ that we cook on out there. Its fun.



Next, we see the other side of the family room. its nothing too exciting. Just a TV, stereo, guitar...the basics. i promise were working on more decorations for the walls.




Now we have the kitchen. Your looking over the bar into the kitchen. i really like that it has this cuz then i can talk to john while he does dishes! :) . its not to big of a kitchen but it suits us well. even if we get the occasional ant invasion.



This is the baby's room. We also have a dresser and a changing table in there. Today i went through and washed all the clothes. It was lots of fun. That is the bedding that John's brother and sister-in-law gave us along with the furniture. The one i want to get is pink and orange polka dot and plaid bedding. Its really cute! I might also put a different color on the rocking chair.









And this is our bedroom. Once again, its in need of decoration. and some more furniture. but were working on it. if we get some bedside tables that will denfinatly help it out.

And then theres me! and my big tummy. im 30 weeks and one day. not too much longer! john and i are getting very excited. He cant wait till little Saphira gets here. You can also see my hair is different. i got highlights! FUN!!
