father's day / balboa

I'm a little late in getting this up, but that's ok. We spent Father's day weekend in Balboa with John's family. His brother had rented a beach house and his family had spent the whole week there. The rest of us came down for the weekend. We had so much fun! Went kayaking and touched jellyfish, relaxed on the beach, went fishing, ate yummy dinners... it was a fun filled weekend.

Today was Erin's Birthday!! We had a fantastic BBQ dinner and a delicious cake made by my own personal chef. :) John is such a wonderful cook! i love it.

christmas time.

This Christmas was a little different than past Christmases. This was the first year I didn't see my side of the family at all on Christmas. My parents were in Oregon while I stayed down here. John was gone in Italy till Christmas night so I spent the day with his family. It was lots of fun, but we did miss everyone. Christmas eve we went to John's dads house and spent the night there. Then Christmas day after opening presents we went to Brian & Mary's house and had a delicious dinner! The day after Christmas we went and spend time with more of John's family. It was a fun filled weekend. :)

giving thanks.

I know I'm a little late in getting my Thanksgiving post up but better late than never. Our Thanksgiving was a whirlwind of fun! We had family come down to visit and there was never a dull moment. We ate yummy food, celebrated birthdays, ate yummy food, went to downtown LA, ate yummy food.... notice a trend? I think I can safely say that all the exercising I have been doing has gone to waste. I probably ate my weight in yummy food. I had the privilege of getting not one, but TWO Thanksgiving dinners. It was fantastic! Anyway, here are some pics to document our weekend.

almost forgot.

remember when i told you about how i was going to see HP6 [harry potter and the half blood prince]. well i went. & it was amazing!! the movie wasn't bad either! :D we had so much fun wearing our scarves, glasses & tattoo scars, kazooing the HP theme song in front of the whole theater, blowing up beach balls and throwing them into the crowd [i mean we have no idea who did that!!], & getting to share in the total excitement of midnight movie going!! i highly recommend getting in with the crazy crowd that was us on that night.

We had a great family reunion this year! We had yummy dessert, nail painting [the most popular clients were the guys] , shooting, crazy rides in the unamog [is that how you spell that??], a bounce house & of course great conversation and time spent with family! I love going to Oregon and spending time with family! I look forward to it every year!

On Sunday we went down to Murrieta for a birthday party for Kim's son, Cody. It was at a park and the day was perfect for being outdoors! Scarlette played in the sandbox/jungle gym area the whole time!!! It was fun to see John's side of the family and spend a day in the sun!

The Oregon Trip and other new happenings...

Last week my mom, Scarlette and I all went to Oregon to visit my Grandma. We had lots of fun. Scarlette did very good on the plane. On the way up she fell asleep on take off and woke up on landing. The trip home was a little harder. She slept a little, but was awake most of the time and a little crabby, but who wouldn't be when you could smell the guy behind us. not pretty...

But we got to see lots of family while we were there. On Mother's Day we had lunch at Mike and Leslie's with the cousins Jon, Jodi and Parker and Katherine (Leslie's daughter). Then after that wonderful lunch we had another wonderful meal, BBQ with the Matthews family at Grandma's. It was lots of fun.

That's right, she can really roll over. Now I know I said that she could a while ago, but that was just a teaser. She only did it the once. But now she's rolling like a pro!! In fact I can't keep her on her tummy. She immediatly rolls onto her back.

And another bit of news. Scarlette had her first taste of "solid" food. She had rice cereal. She didn't cry, but she wasn't too sure of it.



But we did manage to get her to eat some.




And last but not least, not only did Scarlette go on her first plane ride last week, but so did John! He went on a business trip to Iowa! what fun! :)
