village adventures.

we love the summer evenings.
we took a walk in the downtown of claremont with some friends.
there are so many shops & places to eat that i forget about.
we need to go more often.

camping+

This past weekend was packed full of events. We went camping for a family reunion, had my nephew's birthday, my birthday and drove... a lot! We went to Idaho for the reunion. I didn't take very many pictures... in fact I pretty much failed at picture taking this trip. I did get a picture of our view from the door of our tent though....

The camp ground was right on the Snake River. It was very pretty, but it was also right on the highway and therefore, kinda annoying when semis were going by all night. Team that up with the wind that picked up right at bedtime and I barely slept those two nights. The rain stayed away until Sunday morning as we were making breakfast and beginning to break camp and it didn't last long. Luckily. Sunday we drove back to Utah and had dinner & birthday cake with some old family friends. Here's the grandkids that were present. [we are missing 7. we multiply fast!]

It was a crazy but fun weekend! :)
good thing we don't mind road trips. Oregon is in a few weeks! :)

discoveries...

We went to Disneyland with some friends the other day. I made two discoveries. The first was while going to California Adventure. I was always bummed that they didn't have DISNEYLAND written out in huge letters like they did CALIFORNIA for California Adventure because I wanted to be cool and have my picture taken on the S. But then I realized... my last name starts with L!!! I can totally take a picture!! so we did. :)

My second discovery.... was that my daughter thinks she's a backstreet boy....

i don't know where she gets it from! :)

bowling

I took Scarlette bowling with some friends of ours the other day. The girls had so much fun. Scarlette had to do it herself every time but she did a good job! Scarlette loved the shoes. She told me thank you for her new shoes!! :)

a girls night out..

Last week I went with a couple friends of mine to Disneyland and California Adventure for a girls night out. It was lots of fun to just go and not have to worry about dragging kids around with us. :) We tested out all the rides making sure the kids would like them when we brought them back.

They have a mini Palace of Fine Arts!

It was so nice the other day Scarlette & I decided to take a beach day. She loved it! Well, she loved the sand! She wasn't so into the water.

Yesterday Jenna, Kirra & Kalli came over for a play day. The weather was beautiful again so we walked up to the park to let the girls play. They had so much fun! They loved the swings. The whole time they were yeling "weeeeeeee" it was really cute. Then they found the fountain and loved the water, until they got all wet and wanted to get changed! :)

Scarlette had a lunch date with her friend Kirra today. They have so much fun together now. It's so cute to watch them play.

a santa barbara day...

Scarlette & I went to Santa Barbara over the weekend to visit my friend Sarah. She is going to school up there and has been wanting me to come see her forever, so we did! I had soo much fun! It was so beautiful! I totally want to live by the beach now! We went shopping in downtown and went down by the beach to watch the sunset! It was such a fun day!! :)

I met up with my friend Jenna today and her two girls, Kirra and Kalli. Kirra is Scarlette's age, so they have fun playing together. We went to the US Riverside Botanical Gardens and let the girls run all over in the grass.
