weekend at newport

We got to spend the weekend at the Newport Coast Villas with my parents.
We had such a good time! We went swimming in the rain, walked on the beach, enjoyed Ruby's Shake Shack & had lots of fun with our family.

Mason had his first time swimming in the pool and his first beach trip. I decided he definitely has my genes for the beach. His first time putting his toes in the water he laughed. He ran around playing in the sand, eating it and flipping it everywhere. Total opposite of Scarlette's first beach trip. Even now Scarlette still doesn't really like the water and kept asking me to get her a wipe for the sand on her hands. Maybe we can work on that this summer. :)

Thanks for the fun weekend mom & dad! We sure do miss you!

We also spent a couple days at the beach, which included a trip to a glass blowing studio and a tour of the Tillamook Cheese Factory. It was a lot of fun and the ice cream was so yummy!

The day was so clear we could see Catalina.


For me, going to the beach is like going home. It feels so natural and wonderful for me to be there. I love the sand between my toes, the wind in my hair and the sound of the waves crashing on the sand.

I had to run to Santa Monica today for work and so Scarlette & I went to the pier for a little while. We had lots of fun playing games and watching the waves. It was a beautiful day. :)

It was so nice the other day Scarlette & I decided to take a beach day. She loved it! Well, she loved the sand! She wasn't so into the water.

a santa barbara day...

Scarlette & I went to Santa Barbara over the weekend to visit my friend Sarah. She is going to school up there and has been wanting me to come see her forever, so we did! I had soo much fun! It was so beautiful! I totally want to live by the beach now! We went shopping in downtown and went down by the beach to watch the sunset! It was such a fun day!! :)

Beach & BBQ

Saturday Scarlette and I went with my family down to Costa Mesa and had a BBQ at Cliff's parents house with all his family. John went riding with his brother and missed out on all the fun. The food was delicious and everyone had a good time! Scarlette even made a new friend. After the BBQ we all went down to Crystal Cove and played on the beach for a little while.
